Anti-bird spikes put onto trees ‘to stop them pooing on people’s cars’



Bird-lovers slam BMW and Audi drivers in exclusive neighbourhood who have fitted SPIKES to trees to stop pigeons from relieving themselves on their expensive cars



The contraption is fixed to two beech trees near the city's famous Downs grasslands where properties cost around £500,000



Environmentalists have criticised the unsightly spikes for stopping birds nesting in the branches



Green Party councillor Paula O'Rourke claims the lethal-looking blades look awful and make the trees uninhabitable for birds

Pussy Riot Attacked at McDonald's

Pussy Riot members Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina have been attacked by five young men at a McDonald's in Nizhny Novgorod on Thursday.  The attackers threw metal objects at the women as they were eating, leaving Alyokhina with "a cut to her forehead," their lawyer said, Interfax reported. Furthermore, Tolokonnikova and Alyokhina sustained injuries to their eyes after an unidentified liquid was thrown in their faces. The women were filing reports with the police, their lawyer said. This is not the first time that the women have been attacked following their January release from prison, where they had been serving two-year sentences for performing an anti-Putin song in Moscow's Christ the Saviour Cathedral. Tolokonnikova and Alyokhina were whipped by Cossack militiamen as they tried to perform a protest song in Sochi during the 2014 Winter Olympics
