Starved dog whose cruel owner gave her a 'death sentence' by abandoning her in the snow is hoping for a new home by Christmas



Elsa, believed to be four-years-old, was found shivering and malnourished



She was rescued by a passer-by who found her in a Birmingham nature reserve



The dogue de Bordeaux was hours away from dying when she was discovered
